Wigan Way Sponsored Walk 2026

At PPL Innovate, we're committed to making a difference in the communities we support, and this September our team took on the Wigan Way Walk to raise money for our Charity of the Year, Everyone Can.

Chosen by one of our colleagues, Everyone Can is a fantastic charity that helps disabled people unlock their potential through technology. By providing specialist equipment, training and support, they enable children and adults to communicate, learn, work and live more independently.

Their mission resonates strongly with us at PPL Innovate. Every day, we work with local authorities to create accessible, inclusive digital services that help people access information, advice and support. We believe technology should remove barriers, not create them, and Everyone Can shares that same vision of using digital innovation to improve lives.

To raise money for Everyone Can, our team walked the Wigan Way - an 8.5-mile route that we challenged ourselves to complete in around two hours

After heavy downpours in the days (and hours!) leading up to the walk, we were expecting a pretty grim morning. Thankfully, the weather stayed dry, and we even got a few minutes of sunshine! ☀️

There were a few minor detours along the way, a stream to wade through and a couple of slips in the mud, but we made it to the finish line! 👟

It was a brilliant morning - not only was it great to get outside and take a break from our laptop screens, but it was also a lovely opportunity to catch up with colleagues, chat about new ideas and spend some time together away from the office.
